This policy applies to BioMedica, owned and published by the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, and hosted by Discover STM Publishing Ltd.
A published article is the Version of Record. Readers expect it to be accurate, complete and citable, so changes after publication are made openly and are recorded. The journal follows the COPE guidelines on corrections, retractions and expressions of concern.
Corrections
Authors check article proofs before publication. If an error is found afterwards, a correction is published as a corrigendum, for an error made by the authors, or an erratum, for an error made by the journal. Each correction is published on a numbered page, carries the citation of the original article and is linked to it. Where a correction is not enough, the Editor-in-Chief decides the case individually. Normal developments in scientific knowledge do not require a correction. The correction fee is stated on the Article Processing Charges page.
Expressions of concern
Where there is substantial doubt about the honesty or integrity of a submitted or published article, the Editor-in-Chief makes sure the matter is addressed, usually by the sponsoring institution of the authors. The editor does not normally carry out the investigation. While the matter is open, the editor may publish an expression of concern about the work.
Retractions
If the institution finds that a published paper is fraudulent, or if the work is seriously flawed or unethical, the article is retracted. The retraction is published on a numbered page, contains the citation of the original article and is linked to it. The original article remains available, marked as retracted.
Reporting a concern
Please write to the editorial office through the Contact Us page, giving the article title, volume and issue, and the details of your concern.
